November 13, 2010 Meeting

Today's meeting was about brainstorming and discussing which direction CTP needs to go in and how to streamline our group better. We came up with some great ideas that we are implimenting at our next meeting on January 8, 2011 at Spring-Creek BBQ in Cypress Towne Center, 4pm.

One of the ways we are streamlining is by appointing committee chairs to oversee an issue. These commitee chairs are to keep everyone abreast of what is happening with that issue and what our job is concerning the matter. Members can join as many committees as they want to help with research. Then at the meetings, the committe chairs will share with us the information. This way we are not overloaded trying to figure things out! Our next order of business will be Texas Legislation and committee chair is Linda Nutall!

Today's Prayer from our meeting:

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us.The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor,Mighty God,Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 NLT

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today with thanksgiving. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to serve you through the Cypress Texas Tea Party. Please give us the wisdom and foresight to steward this responsibility wisely. We want to honor you with our decisions so we ask that as we discuss political issues and the direction our nation is heading in, that your Holy Spirit guides us. In Jesus Christ’s name we ask, Amen.

November 7, 2010 The victory was ours!

As you have already heard, we took the house! For the most part, nationwide, our tea party efforts have worked! So if a group of people, who mostly had no idea what they were doing, made this big of an impact...

What happens now that we've learned a few things? It's time to win 2012 and stay on that winning streak, bettering America and kicking communism, socialism and Obamacare to the curb! For the first time, I poll watched this past Tuesday from 6:00 am to about 7:40pm, taking notes and reviewing voting poll law. And, I plan on working the polls again next election! Fortunately, there were no incidents at my location, and overall I believe Houston had a free and fair election.

So what do we do now? 2012 elections aren't for a while? Here are the next steps:

1.) Texas Legislation-time to watchdog so study up! http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/

2.) Since we are the Cypress Texas Tea Party, you need to know what's going on locally!  http://www.thecypresstimes.com/

3.) It's time to educate our circle of influence! Most people have NO IDEA what is going on and vote for the best "sound bite." First educate yourself, (http://hotair.com/ & http://www.glennbeck.com ) then tell  your friend. Throw a "House Party." Organizing at the community level will reach more people and have more influence.

4.) Come to our Tea Party meetings, get involved. You already saw what happens when people refuse to no longer stick their head in the sand and decide to do what they can to make a difference.

5.) Luke and I stay in contact with Felicia Cravens (founder of Houston Tea Party Society) and we watch which direction the Tea Party Patriots are going in. They have a conference call for Tea Partiers  nationwide to listen in on every week. If you don't get their emails, please get them and read them! http://www.teapartypatriots.org/

These are our ideas...if you would like to contribute! Come share at a meeting!

October 30, 2010- Monthly Meeting

Today we met at Spring Creek BBQ for our bi-monthly meeting. Henry Newinn spoke, sharing with us his experiences living in communism, the damaging effects of Socialism, and how he viewed living in America vs. Vietnam. He made several really great points, reminding us that people immigrate desperately wanting to live in America, but no one wants to live in a Communist country. So why dear Americans, do we have crazies in our country trying to turn us communist? And why in the world would you vote for someone who wants to take away our freedoms?

Ken Hoover, Field Coordinator for the John Birch Society, introduced us to a spectacular pamplet called The Freedom Index that reveals voting records and who is holding up our U.S. Constitution! He also shared with us what his group is doing concerning promoting conservative thought. Their website is: http://www.jbs.org/.

We have one more meeting at Spring Creek BBQ in Cypress Towne Center on November 13, 2010 at 4:00 pm and then we are taking a short month and a half break for the holidays! But don't think we are calling it quits! We are only recharging for 2011 & 2012!

Here is the prayer our group prayed at today's meeting:

You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Psalm 23:5 NLT

Heavenly Father, thank you that you have our country in your hands. Thank you for blessing us and protecting us. We lift up our Cypress Texas Tea Party group to you and we ask you to give us wisdom, common sense, protection and favor. We ask your Holy Spirit to lead us in the direction that you have called us to go. We ask you to give the citizens of the United States of America the boldness to vote righteously and for those candidates who stand for it. In Jesus Christ’s name we ask, Amen.

See you soon!

October 23, 2010 Early Voting Rally at Cypress Top Park

Wowsers! People came out today by the droves to vote! And they looked determined! Determined like us to turn this country around. Cypress Texas Tea Party set out tents and passed out information, free hot dogs and free water. Elizabeth, a student from Notre Dame, visited with us and interviewed many of our members. I don't think she was expecting some of the responses, but I hope she was pleased with the results. Let's get ready to rumble 2012! We already know we have this election in the bag:)

This past Sunday, in our neighborhood, there was a Triathlon with an after-party. We set up a booth with the Cypress Texas Tea Party banner and passed out free chili and information. Many people approached asking about the Tea Party. The day was beautiful and we had a great time! BTW-Luke's Chili won 1st place:)

October 1, 2010- Monthly Meeting!

Ahhhh! Our temperature is cooling and the sweet smell of the holidays is beginning it's annual descent. This Saturday we met at Spring Creek BBQ to discuss plans for our Early Voting Rally (October 23-Cypress Top Park) and watchdogging the polls. We have decided we are tired of the Acorn business and it's time for truth and justice to reign in Cypress, Texas.

Larry Youngblood, CFISD board member, spoke to our group about the HUGE debt load CFISD is carrying. So listen up Cypress, before you vote on the new school board members this November 2, really investigate which direction the board is taking us.  The CFISD Board Candidate Forum is coming up! Good time to ask some questions! Here is the link:

Opening prayer from our October 1st meeting:

Heavenly Father, We love You and thank You for this day, our Country, and Your providence that is still waiting for us. Lead us to do our part and steward the liberty and freedoms our forefathers worked so hard to achieve. Help us uncover deception and falsehood wherever it lies.

Make us beacons of light, of truth, saying the things You want us to say and doing the things You want us to do.This is our country, and we commit the work of restoring honor, remembering our Godly heritage, and working towards greater liberty to You, and we ask that You establish our thoughts and keep us in the right place at the right time and give us the courage to do what is right every time. For the coming election on Nov. 2nd and the following Presidential election, please wake our country up out of apathy, and give us wisdom to choose righteously.

Help us to educate ourselves and steward our liberty and our right to vote prudently. Please give us ideas in this meeting that bring us joy to perform. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

September 18, 2010- Zube Park Awareness Party

Today was our first "Awareness Party." We gave away hotdogs and water and came ready to register voters! Since we are only a few months old, it is important we get the word out and let people know we exist. And will continue to exist even after the November 2nd elections. I mean we certainly don't want a repeat of 2008!

Several people joined our party today asking questions and very grateful that there was a bunch of us in Cypress ready to fight! The amount of people ready to get off of their blessed assurance and stop the lunacy in our goverment is increasing. We will win this November, and 2012 is going to be the year of the Tea Party.

On October 23, we are joining the other Tea Partiers around Houston for an early voting rally. We plan on hosting them simutaneously around the city. Ours will be held at Cypress Top Park- 26026 Hempstead Hwy.

August 28-29 2010 Restoring Honor Rally and Tea Party Patriot Recycle Government Rally

Furthermore the LORD spake unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people: Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they.So I turned and came down from the mount, and the mount burned with fire: and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands. Deuteronomy 9:13-15 KJV

This past weekend Luke and I traveled to Washington D.C. to the Restoring Honor Rally and to the Tea Party Patriot Recycle Government Rally.

My thoughts? WOW! It was very inspiring to see that many people care enough about honoring God and our forefathers to travel to D.C. and stand in the brutal heat! Luke and I left on Wednesday before the Rally and spent a few days visiting New York, Boston and Philly taking tours related to American History and visiting famous historic sites like the statue of Liberty, the Freedom trail and Independence Hall. We took a train from Philly to Washington D.C at capacity with mostly patriots on their way to the rally. Our train hit three deer knocking out the airline. The operator said it would be at least a three hour wait, which would cause us to arrive at the rally just as it was ending. Luke who was engrossed in coversation with a couple of patriots, decided that we should all pray and believe God to get us there on time. Shortly after the prayer, Amtrak decided to send a back up train to rescue us. We arrived in D.C. just as the Restoring Honor rally kicked off!

My only disappointment with the rally was that while we were walking towards it, a group with banners was shouting, "Stop the racist Tea Party." and then there were several people passing out flyers promoting politicians after Glenn Beck said many times that this wasn't a political rally so please leave your political agenda at home. I did get barked at two or three times by some disgruntled patriots as Luke and I were moving through the thick crowd, but I suppose I probably deserved it! Oh, yeah, and there was a group of people with banners marching saying that Glenn Beck was dishonoring Martin Luther King which was kind of weird since they did it while Dr. King's niece was on stage praising Glenn Beck and the rally.

The next morning, me, Luke and our friend Leighton went to Upper Senate Park to the Tea Party Patriot Rally. We met Jenny Beth Martin  and visited with other Tea Partiers. I thought the rally was a success except for one lady who had a very long speech that ended with her shouting "Impeach Obama." and other stuff like that. Even thought I might agree with her, I didn't get a good feeling from the speech and I felt like her going to the dark side was a bad idea. However, that is simply my opinion and the rest of the speeches sounded reasonable. My favorite part was when they opened with prayer and the pledge of allegiance which is of course what the Cypress Texas Tea Party opens with.   Documentary Video for 8/28

August 7th 2010 Meeting

Today's meeting was long, but much needed! Marty Morrison from Leo Vasquez's office came out to train us so we could become Volunteer Deputy Registrars! Then American Majority taught us on grassroots activism. This is Luke and I's third meeting we have been directors of, and it has been a blast learning!

I was telling Luke on the way to our meeting today that I believe the Tea Party movement is an answer to the church's cry for revival in America. Luke and I have been part of prayer meetings asking God to "Awaken America" and "Return America to Righteousness!" Isn't that what the Tea Party is doing?

It is my personal belief that our Founding Fathers based the U.S. Constitution on New Testament principles. And there is ample documentation proving so. Doesn't this mean that our Constitution is a covenant that our Founding Fathers made between God and America? Think about it.

Anyway, our next meeting is on August 21st at our house. We will be watching a DVD by the Tea Party Patriots about Recycling Government and then organizing block walks to register voters. And directly after the meeting we are block walking.

In case you missed today's meeting, the agenda has been uploaded to our google group. I leave you (temporarily)  with the prayer we opened today's meeting with:

Heavenly Father, We ask that you give the United States President and his administration the wisdom, courage and peace to stand for what is right in Your sight. We also ask you to lead and guide us as we make decisions concerning returning the United States back to the Constitutional laws it was founded on. Help us provide strong moral resources to other citizens who want to live by the principles in which our country was built. Please keep your hand of protection upon us all. In Jesus Christ’s name we ask, Amen.
